Animated Title Sequence

A title sequence I created as my graduating senior animation project from NMSU. With the limited time available, I decided to focus on my strengths in motion graphics and work on a title sequence rather than an animated short as my peers were doing and often would wind up incomplete. It's based on a text-based RP setting I created called Search for Heiwa.

Voichi Arai, the leader of a mercenary team for hire, is quietly approached by a colonel in the Heiwan Army about weapons that have recently gone missing from his base. Believing intelligence reports that a religious group known as the Kaihou Sha is smuggling these weapons from the base in preparation for a coup, he unofficially hires Arai’s team to investigate and stop them. Arai is joined by his ward and teammate K-9, a cybernetic, ninja-esque teenager, and an unsocialized sniper named Ethel Rhodes.

My concept for the title sequence was that it was a combat simulation being run by the team and showcasing each of their talents. I spent a lot of time collaborating with my friends to create character designs that fit their respective characters and making sure it all was timed well to the original theme I composed. I also really have to thank fellow student Brianna Gonzalez for greatly helping out with the cleanup and coloring of my character animation.

Motion Graphics Title Sequences

A title sequence for a text-based roleplay I was involved in called The Game. The title sequence was created for fun and shared with my friends who were likewise part of the RP. The plot involved people from Earth of the near future being transported to a medieval world called Talour via electronic headsets. My goals with the title sequence were to show key areas from the plot, represent the players using the shining stars that are dragged from Earth to Taour and fade out as they went into battle, and effectively convey the tone of the RP.

The first title sequence I ever created, made for a text-based RP I created called Quest for Eden. It was my final for my Precompositing class and blew everyone away with how much effort I put into it. In many ways, Quest for Eden is a precursor to what would become Search for Heiwa. It was set in the opposite country of Eden and chronicled a search for the lost tomes of pure magic. It featured Ethel Rhodes and "Pyro" before the plot was greatly restructured into Search for Heiwa.

Music Videos

A remix and music video I submitted to the Kingdom Hearts Fan Event March Caprice II. The music and animation of graphics were done by me with assistance from Bowtie Artist. The bumper for March Caprice was created by me and submitted for official use by other participants in the event. I attempted to make the visualizer look like a security system for Hollow Bastion.

A remix and music video I submitted to the Kingdom Hearts Fan Event March Caprice III. The music and animation of graphics were done by me with assistance from Bowtie Artist & lunarcykes. The bumper for March Caprice was created by me and submitted for official use by other participants in the event. The design attempts to replicate the main menu style from the Kingdom Hearts games on PlayStation 2.

Lip Sync

An animation lip-synced to a fairly dramatic line from Kingdom Hearts II. It got a lot of laughter from my class I presented it.

An animation lipsynced to a 30-second clip of Lucifer provided by the 30-second Animation Club. My idea was that a man who really loves his typewriter doesn't trust this new-fangled computer...

Animated Logos

Animated logos created for my YouTube Channel, two of my title sequences, and The Lodge at Cloudcroft.

Character Animation

Progression of character animation from storyboarding, rough animation, cleanup, and coloring from my Search for Heiwa title sequence.
